The cryptocurrency libra, proposed by social networks giant Facebook, is supposedly preparing to launch as early as January next year. However, just a restricted variation of the libra cryptocurrency will go for that time.
According to the modified libra whitepaper, the Libra Association meant to at first launch with a few of the currencies in the proposed libra basket, such as “librausd or ≋USD, libraeur or ≋EUR, libragbp or ≋GBP, librasgd or ≋SGD),” the association discussed. However, the Financial Times reported Friday:

The specific launch date for the libra crypto would depend upon when the job gets approval to run as a payments service from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).
