Warsaw, February 9th, 2024.
The second main edition of Bitcoin FilmFest Warsaw is back in town! Get ready for an action-packed event… or actually two of them in one!
Bitcoin FilmFest is a Bitcoin-Only project that made its debut in March 2023 by running the world’s first large-scale Bitcoin film festival in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Its success led to subsequent ‘mini editions’ (aka roadshows), which took place in Lisbon, Lugano, El Salvador and just recently in Cape Town, adding a cinematic twist to well-known conferences.
While future events will be organized regularly, both locally and abroad, with Bitcoin FilmFest as a guest or host, the Warsaw edition is the flagship event you can count on every year.

This late spring, Warsaw’s iconic Palace of Culture and Science will once again welcome hundreds of Bitcoin enthusiasts and independent filmmakers to its historic halls. Cafe Kulturalna, Kinoteka, and other venues within this architectural landmark will buzz with ‘orange vibes’.
This is neither the first nor the last time that this unique film festival takes place here. But this edition is extra important because it is the second main event since last year, not counting the four ‘mini-fests’ we mentioned earlier. And to top it all off, it is also happening in the long-awaited year of 2024.
What is so special about this date?
Well, the fourth Bitcoin halving, the moment that many people have been looking forward to for the past 4 years. No surprise, this year’s Bitcoin FilmFest Warsaw is run in parallel with #EuropeanHalvingParty, the largest gathering of European plebs, around block 840,000.
Although it is hard to guess the exact date, there is a high chance it will align with one of the days of the Warsaw event (April 19-21).
The organizers of BFF24 have made an interesting bet by setting their main party for 4/20 at 4:20. What adds to the intrigue is that these two numbers hold a special meaning in certain circles… Additionally, when combining the date 4/20 with the time 4:20, the sum gives 840,000, exactly the number of the block height at which this halving takes place.
Anyway, let’s get to the point. Here are this year’s highlights:
- A solid lineup of workshops, panels and film screenings at Bitcoin FilmFest (BFF24). Titles such as BITCOINERS, DEATH ATHLETIC and the long-awaited world premiere of DIRTY COIN along with a dedicated pre-release party are just some of the films you’ll see there.

- Halving Games, while not exactly like the ancient Olympics, this unique set of several competitions has the potential to establish a new ‘Bitcoin halving tradition’ as they also take place every four years, much like the Olympics.
- The Half-Marathon, which may be fun even for those who aren’t the biggest fans of running, is again planned by the Bitcoin FilmFest in an interesting way! Not only does it carry the magical number ‘21’ but also promises to be more than just a typical race from start to finish.
- World Guinness Record in Multisig, European Bowling Tournament, and Silent Disco are just a few other attractions at this three-day event, certainly offering rather unusual fun and adrenaline-pumping experiences.
Great! But is there anything else?
The program is quite diverse, with some details yet to be revealed to the public. However, based on our own sources, we have already learned about some points, like those mentioned above. We have also heard that several Bitcoin-only projects associated with the event will be present in Warsaw which may explain the intriguing “European Halving Party powered by Bitcoin FilmFest and Frens”. La Bitcoineta, Maxis Club, Noderunners Radio, BeBitcoiner, Love is Bitcoin, CryptoSteel, Geyser Fund, Flash, BitBox — are just a few of the names we have come across.
To sum up, ‘European Halving Party + BFF24’ promises to be a memorable event, especially since it is not just another conference, but rather, as the organizers claim “the largest gathering of European plebs. Half-party, half-conference, half-filmfest.”

To avoid any disappointment, it might be a good idea to explore the ticket options available via their Geyser campaign, which, or directly the official website. While there are only 420 tickets available with Early Bird pricing for a few more weeks, not securing a seat at this price would be a missed opportunity.
The decision is yours but hope to see you in Warsaw!
