This is a viewpoint editorial by Dan Weintraub, an author and high school instructor who initially ended up being thinking about Bitcoin while teaching economics.

I just recently enjoyed with bemused indifference CNN’s Donald Trump city center charade, yet another in an unlimited list of macabre political and social zombie dances.

The truth is, I don’t care all that much any longer about celebration politics, about the upcoming governmental election cycle, about apparently wholehearted and earnest liberal and conservative political expressions within the American polity, about the hand-wringing surrounding the rare future of American Democracy, and so on. What I do appreciate, nevertheless, is how simple it is for people to be controlled, to think the lies.

We are all sheep — blind fans with little sense of discernment — we are all totally programmable and totally impressionable. History might not duplicate itself per se, however as an unlimited record of follower-humans following leader-humans off of proverbial cliffs shows (and for no other factor than the leader-humans were/are truly knowledgeable at lying), it definitely seems like recognition all over once again.

Worry not! This is not a short article about Trump or about ideological disaffection. Trump is simply one guy in a human melodrama that covers centuries. The focus of this piece has to do with the function Bitcoin can play in bring back belief and in ending human somnambulance; it has to do with how we disempower the disinformationalists. And it is a caution, for those in power will go to any lengths to keep their hypnotic grip on humankind.

Why Governments Fear Bitcoin

So, the very first concern we must take a look at is this: Why are federal governments apparently so scared of Bitcoin? Interestingly, it’s not just due to the fact that Bitcoin has the possible to end federal governments’ monopoly on cash (which is undoubtedly a quite huge offer in and of itself). No. The hidden factor in fact shows something even more basic: Governments hesitate of Bitcoin as a construct due to the fact that federal governments can just govern through deceit and dishonesty.

You see, the most effective and effective federal governments throughout history have actually been (and stay) the ones that are the most adroit and achieved at lying. The United States federal government, that bastion of expected democratic righteousness, remains in reality an engaging example of this concept. From Vietnam to Iraq, Joseph McCarthy to Lyndon Johnson to Jerome Powell and beyond, U.S. history is packed with examples of the power of lies, and of the malleability of the minds of well-intentioned, patriotic, innocent, confident, lost people.

Bitcoin Outs The Lies

Back to Trump for a minute. This from the BBC:

“Mr. Trump has actually questioned the authenticity of the election procedure in a series of tweets, the current of which stated on Monday: ‘Of course there is large scale voter fraud happening on and before election day… Why do Republican leaders deny what is going on? So naive!’ “

The above quote is not from the fall of 2020. This is from 2016, when then-candidate Trump was dealing with then-candidate Hilary Clinton in the basic election. Lest we forget, Trump has actually been making claims of rigged elections for many years. A skillful and, in reality, rather advanced specialist in the art of making use of human neurological frailty, Trump remarkably leveraged (and continues to take advantage of) his abilities as a purveyor of disinformation. Indeed, 10s of countless Americans continue to think that Trump’s claims of election scams in 2020 are proper, which the presidency was taken from him and from his fans.

I discover this totally interesting and frightening at the exact same time.

The point is not whether Trump’s claims are precise. And, if I am being sincere, I need to confess to having no chance of understanding whether Trump’s claims hold true. (The reality is, if I decline his claims, I might just be selecting to think the story that has actually been proffered by the opposite. Both sides adhere tenaciously to their information. Both sides stay in echo chambers that strengthen their stories. Both sides experience the anti-intellectual results brought on by the frailties of human neuroplasticity. And both sides are made up of countless follower-humans, uninformed of the power that the leader-humans wield through their controls, through their theater, through their deceits.)

The point here is that, without the capability to validate Trump’s claims, we are all possible victim; without the capability to understand beyond any doubt what truly occurred in the last election cycle, there is no chance to rely on the election results — undoubtedly, there is no chance to trust our political procedure at all.

Bitcoin And Neuroplasticity

Neuroscience 101: Hear something enough and you will think it to be real. Get on your knees and hope to God every day for an hour, and within months, possibly weeks, even dyed-in-the-wool atheists will think in God. Read just posts on Breitbart and The Gateway Pundit, listen just to podcasts by Tucker Carlson and Glenn Beck, and you will, beyond any doubt in your mind, think the election was taken. Read just posts on Mother Jones and HuffPost and Slate Magazine, and you will think beyond any doubt in your mind that the election stood. Listen just to YouTube channels transmitting the views of Michael Saylor, Balaji Srinivasan, Mark Moss and Jeff Booth and you will think that bitcoin to $1 million dollars is unavoidable, that run-away inflation is coming which the banks are all going to collapse. Listen just to YouTube channels promoting the views of Warren Buffet and Peter Schiff and you will think Bitcoin is a ponzi plan and a rip-off.

Humans are sheep due to the fact that we are wired to be sheep. We think that we are important thinkers and excellent discerners of truth, however we are everyone simply consuming and internalizing the stories that we hear, over and over and over once again.

Without confirmation, we are all possible victims to the lies informed by those in power.

Again, go into Bitcoin.

As I presumed in my previous short article, we need to have some creativity. We need to have the determination to see that, in time, the Bitcoin network might serve as the fundamental layer to all digital interactions. And in time, there is every possibility that such a network might have the capability to validate beyond any possible doubt each deal, each interaction, each newspaper article, each claim by the federal government, each tweet, and so on.

But here’s the important things: We in fact do not need to have much creativity at all to acknowledge that elections and blockchain innovation exist tense, not future tense, factors to consider.

Imagine a system in which every tally is inscribed with a digital personal key/signature. All ballot records survive on an immutable journal. While this will not disempower those who use lies and disinformation as a method to control the neurologically prone, it will move us in an instructions in which claims of citizen scams, like those promoted by Trump, have no teeth. And possibly in time, as Bitcoin and the Bitcoin network multiplies, more such types of confirmation have the possible to damage the phonies’ superpower.

I acknowledge that at this minute, Bitcoin is feared more for its capability to prevent financial control than it is for its naturally genuine nature. U.S. leaders are scared at the possibility of the dollar losing its status as the world’s reserve currency, and as such, they will do basically anything to concern and weaken the authenticity and availability of anything that enhances such a possibility. (For example, today we hear even more about the evils of China and of RNB ascendancy than we do about Bitcoin.)

But can you see, in a possible future in which lying ends up being significantly tough, why our leaders might fear Bitcoin so quite? And can you see why our leaders will do anything to stop the ascendency of truth and confirmation? I have little doubt that, as the Bitcoin network ends up being significantly efficient in vetting any and all types of information, of confirming any and all types and claims upon truth, that leaders the world over will do whatever — whatever! — in their power to ruin this network — because without the capability to lie, to control we the sheep, all federal governments, all central power brokers, needs to by their very nature stop working.

In time, Bitcoin can end up being a lot more than a financial network. It can end up being a lot more than a shop of financial worth. It can end up being a lot more than residential or commercial property. In time, The Bitcoin procedure and Bitcoin network can end up being the very thing that those in power fear most: the truth.

Where there is truth, the sheep awaken.

The Trumps Of The World Must Be Held To Account

As I stated at the start of this piece, this is not a political screed. Politicians lie, no matter ideology. Leaders left wing are simply as apt, simply as knowledgeable, at utilizing disinformation and dishonesty as are those on the right. The point is, without the capability to objectively validate the truth, people will continue to toss their meaningless selves into the fray, thinking to their core the lies proffered by those who gain from such duplicity.

I understand that a number of you reading this will see my views about the advancement of the Bitcoin network as the things of dream. I ask you though: Throughout human history, hasn’t every development at the same time been considered great? Bitcoin is only simply starting. Once our leaders pertain to recognize that, in the not-so-distant future, the Bitcoin network and procedure might change into an international and inviolable lie detector, they will go to any length to eliminate it. For they are just as effective as are the validity of the lies they inform.
